| Abstract | Mangrove forests have been destroyed at an alarming rate globally, faster than terrestrial forest. The importance of mangroves in providing ecological services has been highlighted in discussions on REDD+. Mangroves have a relatively high Greenhouse Gas removal capacity and thus higher potential to earn carbon revenues. The aim of this paper is to examine the potential for mangrove carbon projects in Vietnam. Based on this assessment a number of conclusions and recommendation are provided. |
