| Abstract | This report is the fourth in a series analyzing the situation in Sudan around issues arising from the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement. Although South Kordofan is north of the international border with newly-established South Sudan, the northern Sudan government continues to order aerial bombardment of the region, claiming to target pro-south forces that threaten to destabilize the country. The bombings have caused a large number of casualties and displaced hundreds of thousands of people. As the region enters the months before the next harvest (in December-January), the lack of food, medicine and clean drinking water worsens the situation considerably. |
