| Abstract | The approach of IICD to use ICT for empowering people and enabling them to improve their living standards and quality of life is described. IICD uses ICT as a tool to effectively support existing and new development activities. It currently works in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. In Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Ghana, Jamaica, Mali, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia IICD has set up programmes which create and enhance development opportunities in education, good governance, livelihoods (especially agriculture), health, and the environment. |
