SamenvattingTo support the right to food for all, ICCO & Kerk in Actie have been backing food security programmes for many years. Based on their experiences, ICCO & Kerk in Actie have formulated a food security policy for 2007-2010. This policy is an integral part of the 2007-2010 operation plan for the ICCO Alliance, a cooperation of the Dutch development organizations Edukans, Kerk in Actie, Oikocredit, Prisma, Share People and ICCO. The three main themes in the 2007-2010 operation plan are: (1) access to basic services; (2) sustainable fair economic development; and (3) democratization and peace building. Food security falls under the heading access to basic services, which also includes education, health, water and HIV/Aids. Food security objectives for 2007-2010 are to have: improved food security of the most vulnerable groups; the voice of vulnerable people is heard in policy making; and, governments assume their responsibility in the realization of the right to food for all.
