| Samenvatting | Mirza Jahani is the Regional Chief Executive Officer of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in East Africa. In this article, which is based on an interview with Jim Smale, he describes the approach of AKF to community development in Kenya: that it is by maximising the potential of communities to achieve social, economic and political viability that sustained development can be achieved. Within this broad approach, holistic early childhood development (ECD) programmes have their key places and roles – and the best chance of being sustained. |
