| Samenvatting | In recent years the “performance based financing” (PBF) approach has received increasing attention. However, benefits of PBF are still inconclusive with suggestions that it is not sustainable, it will not have a pro-poor effect, and it may create perverse incentives. This study shows that PBF is a promising approach, but more research will be necessary to examine whether it is indeed the most effective approach for delivery of improved health services. |
