| Samenvatting | This paper is written for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) working in natural resources management in the South and North, who are interested to (further) address and integrate gender issues in their activities. It aims to provide CSOs with some insights and examples and methods to mainstream gender in their work, specifically in water and land use management activities. It intends to answer 3 questions: Why is gender important in environment and development work, and in natural resources management in particular (land, water, forest, commons)?; How can you address gender issues in water and land use management activities?; Where to find more information and tools to support you? While the first chapter provides some theory and background on the concepts of gender and gender mainstreaming, the focus of the paper will be on a number of concrete examples of and tools for addressing gender inequity issues. |
