| Samenvatting | This is the annual report of the Suriname programme of Tropenbos International (TBI) for the year 2010. TBI is a nongovernmental organisation (NGO) based in the Netherlands. It was established in 1986 in response to concern about the degradation and disappearance of tropical rainforests worldwide. The goal of TBI is to achieve the sustainable management of tropical forest lands for the benefit of people, conservation and sustainable development. Since its establishment in 2003, Tropenbos International Suriname aims at wise use of the forest so that the country can maintain its high forested and low deforestation status and at the same time improve the national living standards. |
