SamenvattingThis is an abridged version of the framework document for ‘Strengthening the care environment’, one of the three issue areas outlined in the Bernard van Leer Foundation’s Statement of Strategic Intent for 2007 to 2009. The Foundation’s ‘Strengthening the care environment’ issue area flows from the Bernard van Leer Foundation’s mission – which is to enhance opportunities for children from birth to age 8 who are growing up in circumstances of social and economic disadvantage, to get a good start in life and to make a fuller contribution to tomorrow’s families, communities and societies.
